Creating Jobs (click here for brochure)
During the decade that I've served as one of your County Commissioners, we have made great progress in creating a business-friendly, family-friendly environment. The result of all this hard work? Since I took office in 1996, Washington County has experienced a net growth of 6,100 new jobs.
During my service I have worked for:
* The completion of Southpointe Industrial Park, 609 acres which boasts over 5,000 jobs.
* The developement of California Technology Park,120 acres now home to over 500 jobs.
* The creation of Starpointe Industrial Park, the largest Brownfield reclamation project in the region, with 100 acres developed is home to more than 150 jobs. Upon it's completion of all park acreage ,we anticipate more than 5,500 jobs.
* The development of Southpointe II which currently boasts 1,200 jobs upon build out anticipates a total of 2,800 jobs.

We've worked hard to make ends meet … and as a result, we've passed seven straight balanced budgets. The better news is, we've been able to balance those last seven budgets while still maintaining a low tax rate -- in fact, I'm especially proud of the fact that ours is the second-lowest tax rate in the region.
Family Life (click here for brochure)
The family is the central building block of our society … and it is under attack. Forty years of liberal social policy has resulted in a spiraling divorce rate, a massive increase in out-of-wedlock births, abortion on demand at virtually any point in a pregnancy for virtually any reason whatsoever, and now the very institution of marriage itself is threatened. The Second Amendment (click here for photo)
Freedom isn't free. Our country has a long and dignified history of personal responsibility and accountability. For generations, our ancestors have lived in a country where they were free, and able, and expected to defend themselves, their families, and their homes. I believe that it is important that we maintain these rights for ourselves, and for generations to come.
